Noujaim To Be Honored by Central Naugatuck
Valley Senior Service Network
HARTFORD- The Central Naugatuck Valley (CNV) Senior
Service Network has announced that it will honor State Representative Selim
Noujaim (R-Waterbury) for his legislative efforts to improve the quality of
life and health care for Connecticut’s senior citizens. The recognition
will be made at a reception in the dining room of the Legislative Office
Building in Hartford on April 7, 2004, at 8:00 am.
This year, Representative Noujaim has cosponsored legislation critical to
the mission for the CNV Senior Service Network. Among them are House Bill
5205, AN ACT ESTABLISHING STANDARDS FOR CONTRACTS BETWEEN MANAGED CARE
ORGANIZATIONS AND PHYSICIANS, and Senate Bill 45, AN ACT CONCERNING
SUPPORTIVE HOUSING SERVICES AND FACILITIES FOR PERSONS WITH MENTAL
DISABILITIES.
The CNV Senior Service Network was founded in 1992, for the purpose of
facilitating interagency cooperation and communication among service
providers that participate in the planning and delivery of social, legal,
and health-related services to the elderly of the CNV region. They provide
education to CNV Network members, discover overlapping services, and
identify service needs that are not met.
Representative Noujaim, who has continuously worked on issues of
long-term care, home health services, and elderly transportation, as well as
prescription drug costs for seniors, noted that he is very honored to be
recognized by the CNV Senior Service Network.
“I deeply appreciate the recognition that the Central Naugatuck Valley
Senior Service Center has given me,” said Representative Noujaim. “Their
work is certainly critical and has inspired the work I do in the General
Assembly in obtaining better care and options for Connecticut’s seniors. I
will continue this effort as long as I serve in the legislature.”
