Noujaim Announces Grant for WARC
$10,000 Made Available for Waterbury Assoc.
for Retarded Citizens
WATERBURY- State Representative Selim Noujaim
(R-Waterbury) today announced that he has been successful in obtaining a
$10,000 grant for Waterbury’s Association for Retarded Citizens from the
Office of Policy and Management. The grant will be used for the expansion
of adult day services including activity programs focusing on community
experiences, the arts and entertainment. This will provide a unique
opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to explore the
community with day trips to museums, theaters, parks, art exhibits, plays
and social events.
“I am very pleased to be able to confirm that this grant is approved,”
said Representative Noujaim, who requested the grant from OPM in response
to a request from Deborah Vitarelli, Executive Director of WARC. “These
funds will be a vital resource for the individuals who have special needs
served by WARC to continue to develop and improve themselves through
continued outreach and interaction with the arts and other important and
stimulating aspects of our community.”
