Noujaim Continues As Ranking Member of
Commerce Committee
HARTFORD- House Minority
Leader Robert M. Ward (R-North Branford) today announced his
re-appointment of Waterbury Representative Selim Noujaim to serve as
Ranking Member on the legislature’s Commerce Committee.
“Representative Noujaim is widely respected in our
caucus as well as the whole legislature as someone who has a deep
understanding and great experience in the business world,” said
Representative Ward. “His service has been vital as Ranking Member of
the Commerce Committee and I am confident that his continued leadership
will have a positive influence on the issues that come before that
committee.”
“I am very honored that the Minority Leader has
entrusted this post to me,” said Representative Noujaim. “I intend to
capitalize on my experience as a business owner and an employer while we
consider some of the most critical issues that impact Connecticut’s
economy in this committee.”
Representative Noujaim was also selected to serve on the
legislature’s Higher Education and Aging Committees.
Noujaim represents the 74th
District, which includes Waterbury’s East End. He was first elected in a
special election in 2002, and was re-elected to full terms in 2002 and
2004.
