Noujaim Appointed to Post University
Board of Directors
WATERBURY- State Representative Selim Noujaim (R-Waterbury) has
been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Post University. President of
Post College, Dr. Jon DeTemple said with the changing face of Post
University, Representative Noujaim was a perfect choice to join the Board.
“Selim is an alum, a prominent local citizen who is deeply connected
to the community,” said Dr. DeTemple. “We are trying to reconnect Post
University with the community once again and restructuring with new
trustees. Selim Noujaim is just the type of person we need.”
In May of 1990, Post College became affiliated with the worldwide
Teikyo Group. The affiliation resulted in a name change - from Post
College to Teikyo Post University - and dramatically expanded the
institution's mission and scope. From a predominantly regional business
college, Post University became an affiliate of one of the world's largest
international education consortia.
Today, as Post University, the school’s enrollment consists of
approximately 700 students on campus, and another 600 enrolled in online
programs.
“I am very proud to have been named to the Board of Trustees of Post
University,” said Representative Noujaim, who graduated from Post when
it was known as Post Junior College in 1973. “Post represents the
classic kind of American institution that allowed me, as an immigrant, to
rise from scrubbing floors while attending the school to eventually be
named to the Board of Trustees. Post embodies American opportunity, and I
look forward to the challenges ahead of the Board.”
