Rep. Noujaim presents Warren Fox Kaynor Technical High School Principal Robert J. Axon with a proclamation from Gov. Rell honoring him for his service to the school. The 2009 school year will be Mr. Axon’s last year as Kaynor Tech’s principal. He is being transferred to another technical school in Connecticut. Rep. Noujaim presented the proclamation to Mr. Axon during graduation ceremonies for Kaynor Tech’s Class of 2009 at the Palace Theater June 22nd.

Representative Noujaim reads to children at a recent family festival sponsored by the Waterbury School Readiness Council at Library Park in Waterbury. Several social services, mental health organizations, and child care programs participated in the event, which was geared toward families with children aged birth to five. Between 400 and 500 people attended the festival, which took place Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The students sat in on a public hearing before the Labor and Public Employees Committee, and four of them offered mock ‘testimony’ before the hearing got underway. Rep. Representative Noujaim reads to about 50 children, who participated in the annual ‘Waterbury Loves to Read’ event at the Target Store on Chase Avenue Saturday, February 7th. The event, which was sponsored by the Nutmeg Council, the local chapter of the Connecticut Reading Association, encourages children to develop a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
